Thank You!

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has checked out my blog the past few days! I am so excited and have been working on other entries (still in the draft phase) for future parties. I can't wait to share them with you. Kayleigh continues to ask for a boy plushie Elf on the Shelf, the birthday tradition elf outfit, and the baking outfit for her elf. Sheesh! It's not even Thanksgiving and yet it is like Elf Central around here! Well, I guess that's okay because she and I have been planning on decorating after Thanksgiving anyway. We just love the magic of Christmas and the holidays. Do yourself a favor, shop early all year and it saves so much stress during Christmas and the holiday season in general! Then you can focus on the joy of giving and not get all "Bah-Humbuggy". My husband didn't believe me and then he went with me to go shopping for our niece and nephew in October and was like, "Wow, this is easier"- duh! *Face palm* Now if only I could get him to react like that when I want help keeping the house clean.... ah, he's a work in progress- you can't rush these things.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and I will be posting soon about my "Elf Breakfast of 2013", our "North Pole Party" scheduled for December 7th, and then our "Sugar Plum Fairy Gingerbread Party" on December 21st! Can't wait!

Take care,
Ariane

The Adventures of Chicky Series- Chicky Goes to New Hampshire

Hi All,

This book is one of my favorites. For all of you Lucy Calkin's fans out there, it is basically a "small moment" of an evening when Kayleigh was three when we were out on the lake of Lake Winnesquam, NH and having a great time. We vacation there during the summer months and love being near the water and on the boat. Many happy memories have been made with many more to come. Check out my Photography tab for some beautiful pictures on the lake. I love it up there and so does Kayleigh!  The Lobster Connection is the absolute best place to go for seafood and lobsters (especially Lobster Rolls) on the lake. My summer doesn't start until I have one of those on our first trip up to the lake. Check out their website here.  Be sure to stop by if you are ever in the area- you will not be disappointed. I do a lot of free advertising for businesses and places that I love and that have great service. This is my number one up in the Lake Winnesquam area.

Anyway, here are some pictures from the book!

The Adventures of Chicky Series- Chicky And The Dark

The second book in the series is called "Chicky and the Dark". In this book, Chicky is afraid of the dark. She meets a little lightening bug named Itsy. Itsy is the smallest lightening bug and cannot shine as brightly as the other lightening bugs. She is sad and feels left out, but upon meeting Chicky, she discovers that even the smallest lightening bugs can shine brightly help out their friends. Because of Itsy, Chicky discovers that she is not afraid of the dark anymore.

I hope you enjoy looking at the pictures! Hopefully this will be published soon!

My Publications

Little Monkey Learns to Share

The book Little Monkey Learns to Share is my very first actual publication! This is a dream come true and I am so happy to be able to share pictures from the book with you! Check them out!

The story is about sharing and how it can create positive experiences for both the sharer and the share. (I made up that term but you get the idea). Little Monkey lives next to the only banana tree on the island and does not want to share his bananas with any of the other animals. But he is very lonely. He sees Little Elephant, who loves to share his peanuts with all the other animals, as a happy little guy with lots of friends. Little Elephant teaches Little Monkey that "It is better to share, than not share at all, from the tallest animal, to the very small".

So far, the reports from kids and families alike is that the children love the vibrant colors and pictures and keep requesting the story over and over. That makes my heart so happy!

I went with the Xlibris company to self publish and so far, I have sold the books at craft fairs, schools, have made donations to charities like Make A Wish Foundation, and local libraries and schools. The book is for sale at amazon.com and retail value is $15.99 but it may be on sale for much cheaper! It is also available for purchase through the Xlibris store for $15.99.

I have successfully been able to have it for purchase at Tilly and Salvy's Bacon Street Farm in Natick, MA. It is also for sale at Beyond Beans in Wayland, MA. Be sure to check this place out! They have the BEST  homemade goodies, breakfast sandwiches, and coffee!!! I go there every morning practically and have tried most of their stuff.

Autographed copies can also be purchased from me for $25, this includes shipping and handling. Just send me a request and we can take care of the details!

I am currently working on a series called the Adventures of Chicky. This is a really cute series that features "Chicky" who in reality is based on my daughter. Chicky is growing up and she has many big girl- er, chicky experiences like a new nest, her first Easter Egg Hunt, getting over her fear of the dark, spending weekends in New Hampshire, getting a new bunny rabbit... you get the idea. Hopefully this too will be in print very soon.

Happy reading!
