Cakes

Little Cupcake:

I made this cake for Kayleigh's first birthday. She was such a little  peanut!

Second Birthday Cake was an attempt at a Duckie cake. Ahh the early years. Funny how you can see that I have improved greatly as time has gone on.... ha!

Hello Kitty Cake:

This is the Hello Kitty Cake that I made for Kayleigh's third birthday. Came out cute don't you think? This is available for $30 if you would like me to make it for you.

Enjoy!

My gingerbread cookies  were quite the hit this year....

As well as the vanilla cupcakes with pretty frosting and gingerbread décor!

A Mother's Cherished Memories

It's days like today as I am waving to my little girl that I realize how much I cherish these times. Each day, she tells me the side she wants to sit on so that I can stand on that side of the bus and wave to her. Each day I get to watch her dimpled little smile as she blows me kisses from the window and I blow kisses back. She is an amazing little girl and has accomplished so much. She makes me a better person and I love her to pieces. She completes my heart and I am so proud of her everyday.

Organizing

So I have been attempting to organize my many party planning bins. First I thought I would put each theme into separate bins... you know, the Mermaid Party in one bin, the Sugar Plum Fairy/Gingerbread Party in another, the "Letters to Santa and Frozen parties that I have been collecting items for but have not had yet" stuff in another..... and then I realized that I like to repurpose most things so....

I decided to keep all paper goods in one bin (napkins, baking cups, plates, plastic ware, streamers, popcorn buckets, etc.) and my fabrics (tablecloths, napkins, and overlays or backdrops) in another bin, and my theme items (ceramics that have a theme such as ice cream bowls or candy dishes or favors that go to those themes) in their own separate bins labeled with the "theme" for easy reference. I put all my chocolate molds and cake pans in another bin with the decorating tips and rollers. I have my chocolates (all being used soon!) for the molds in another Tupperware bin for safe keeping. I put my stamps and ribbons, and stickers in their own bin upstairs in the craft room. Ahh, there. Everything has its place- until I get bored or realize the set up is not conducive to my needs- ha!

I want to have items at the ready but also a place to put things when they go to a specific "theme" so that is what the smaller bins are for.  I have stuff for "Despicable Me" and "Wreck It Ralph/Sugar Rush" parties that my daughter wants for birthdays in the future that I have been collecting and thinking about. If it is on clearance or sale, and doesn't break the bank, hey they might be a fun movie night activity. I also had stuff for a Candy Shoppe birthday party in the future- I can combine that with Wreck It Ralph too! So many great ideas out there as well. My Pinterest boards are FULL of party ideas. I even tried out the minion marshmallow pops with Kayleigh and they came out great! I used large white circle sprinkles from Wilton for the eyes though, they looked cute too. Didn't have any Smarties.

I  think the best is when my little angel looks at me and says, "I have the best Mumma ever" and I ask, "Aww, thanks, but why do you say that?" She responds with, "You plan the best parties!" *tear* It is nice to know that she appreciates them and the hard work and fun that goes into creating them and seeing them come to life. She even started her own little planning notebook and started planning her 8th Minion birthday. It was the cutest thing! I took a picture of it. Check it out! I love her so much!

So cute!!! I can't stand it! Well enjoy and good night!

Photography Blog

Ahh... photography.

I love taking my camera and capturing all these wonderful experiences and memories. Shutterfly gets a ton of business from me, that's for sure. One of my favorite things to do is bring my camera to my friends' birthday parties and take photographs of the parties. I want to do this as a side gig but I am trying to gain more experience too. It is hard enough to plan a party and then host it and remember to get all of those great shots. Designating a person to help photograph the event ensures that not only will you get those shots, but that you can be in some of the pictures too!

Here are some of my previous photos.

My Publications

Hi All! This is my publications page. You may or may not know that I am a writer, a poet, and love to illustrate my stories. I write children's stories and have my whole life. In 2012, I fulfilled a life long dream to publish my own children's book and created the story, "Little Monkey Learns to Share". This book came out so cute!

The book Little Monkey Learns to Share is my very first actual publication! This is a dream come true and I am so happy to be able to share pictures from the book with you! Check them out using the links below.

I am currently working on a series called the Adventures of Chicky. This is a really cute series that features "Chicky" who in reality is based on my daughter. Chicky is growing up and she has many big girl- er, chicky experiences like a new nest, her first Easter Egg Hunt, getting over her fear of the dark, spending weekends in New Hampshire, getting a new bunny rabbit... you get the idea. Hopefully this too will be in print very soon.

You can find the links to my publications here:
